I offer bodywork that is attuned to your wellness goals as they evolve and change over time.
It is my intention to facilitate a therapeutic experience for you to unwind patterns of restriction in the connective tissue, musculature and subtle body.
While our culture normalizes and even valorizes stress and overwork, the truth is that a healthy stress response is vitally important to our well-being, and relaxation is one of the most powerful and immediately beneficial aspects of massage.
As a massage therapist, I honor the body’s inner wisdom within us all.
Massage is most beneficial when you feel safe. I have specialized training in the role of trauma in the healing process, and make every effort to hold a space that feels safe, respectful and nurturing to you. I also have experience working with people who seek out massage for depression, anxiety, injuries, pain, and TMJ/jaw dysfunction.
I graduated from East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, and continue to study CranioSacral therapy with the Upledger Institute. The modalities I practice include myofascial release, Swedish and deep tissue massage, and CranioSacral therapy.
My approach to bodywork draws upon principles of social justice theory, yoga, Ayurveda, flower essence therapy, non-violent communication and mindfulness. I received my Bachelors in both Gender Studies and Black Studies from Portland State University.
Here’s a blog post by one of our other practitioners about working with me. You can check my availability here.
I look forward to working with you!/?php // If comments are open or we have at least one comment, load up the comment template //if ( comments_open() || '0' != get_comments_number() ) : // comments_template(); //endif; //?>
